About Central States Pain Clinic (CSP)
Now, we’re seeking an Advanced Practice Provider – NP/PA to join our dedicated team — helping deliver safe, high-quality care while supporting patients on their journey to better health.
The Opportunity
As an Advanced Practice Provider, you’ll collaborate with physicians to assess, diagnose, and treat patients using a blend of clinical expertise and interpersonal care. This role plays a vital part in day-to-day patient management and overall clinic performance — from conducting exams and prescribing medications, to performing therapeutic procedures and contributing to treatment planning. You'll have a direct influence on patient outcomes and a valued voice within a high-performing team.
What You’ll Do:
Clinical Care & Diagnostics
- Conduct patient exams, obtain medical histories, and record findings
- Make preliminary diagnoses and recommend appropriate follow-up care
- Order, administer, and interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., x-rays, EKGs, bloodwork)
- Perform therapeutic procedures including immunizations, injections, suturing, wound care, and infection management
- Assist physicians with emergencies and complex procedures
- Develop and implement individualized care plans
- Counsel and instruct patients on treatment, progress, and follow-up steps
- Provide health education in areas like family planning, diet, mental health, and preventive care
- Exercise sound professional judgment when consulting with supervising physicians
- Prescribe medications in accordance with state regulations and clinic policies
- Maintain accurate patient records and contribute to reporting or research as required
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and team members
- Thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative clinical setting
- Are detail-oriented, organized, and confident in making independent clinical decisions
- Have experience working with patients across all age groups — from infants to older adults
- Are committed to staying current with medical standards and continuing education

Education & Training (Required):
Completion of one of the following:
- 4-year Physician Assistant (PA) baccalaureate program + 1 year of clinical training, OR
- 2-year accredited PA program (following 2 years of undergraduate study) + 2 years of post-program clinical training
- Accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for Physician Assistants
- 100 hours of CME every 2 years
- Recertification exam every 10 years (PA) or every 5 years (NP), as applicable
- Current state license (SD or NE) — required
- BCLS certification — required
- ACLS certification — preferred
- Current, unrestricted DEA license
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent software
- Solid problem-solving and analytical capabilities
- Comfortable providing care to patients of all ages
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods
- Clear communication skills in English (with or without reasonable accommodation)
- Frequent lifting/moving up to 10 lbs; occasional lifting/moving up to 25 lbs
- Ability to push up to 300 lbs
- Visual requirements: 20/20 vision (with or without corrective lenses), close vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment
