The Opportunity
As a Medical Assistant at ISSF, you’ll play a key role in both patient care and clinic operations. You’ll assist providers during procedures, manage patient flow, and help maintain compliance with healthcare regulations. Your work ensures that patients receive the highest quality care while supporting a collaborative and efficient workplace.
What You’ll Do
Clinical Support & Patient Care
- Obtain and record patient medical histories, vitals, test results, and other clinical data while maintaining strict confidentiality.
- Prepare examination rooms, equipment, and instruments for patient visits and procedures.
- Assist practitioners during medical procedures and support patients before, during, and after treatments.
- Prepare, order, and administer medications under the supervision of physicians.
- Deliver compassionate support and guidance to patients and families.
- Answer and direct phone calls, schedule appointments, check in patients, and maintain accurate records and consents.
- Manage inventory of medical supplies and ensure exam rooms are fully equipped.
- Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
- Complete annual mandatory training and perform other duties as assigned.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members.
- Adapt quickly in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Are detail-oriented and committed to maintaining high standards of care.
- Enjoy supporting both the operational and patient care aspects of a healthcare team.
- High school diploma or GED (required)
- Medical Assistant Certification (preferred)
- Pain management experience (preferred)
- 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant (required)
- 1 year experience using EMR systems (required), preferably eClinicalWorks
