We’re seeking an experienced and patient-focused Registered Nurse to join our surgical team. The RN will provide safe, high-quality nursing care throughout the surgical process and may support patients in the pre-operative, operating room, and/or recovery areas based on assignment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe, therapeutic nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and clinical standards.
- Perform patient assessments, obtain nursing histories, monitor vital signs, and identify changes in patient condition.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and members of the healthcare team.
- Prepare and maintain the operating room, including ensuring appropriate equipment and supplies are available.
- Assist surgeons and clinical team members during surgical procedures by providing instruments and supplies as needed.
- Monitor and assess patients before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Follow infection control and patient safety protocols.
- Accurately document assessments, nursing interventions, patient responses, and outcomes in the electronic health record.
- Operate a C-Arm/fluoroscope under the guidance of and in conjunction with the surgeon, as assigned.
- Support a collaborative, safe, and efficient surgical environment.
Required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
- Current BLS certification.
- Strong patient assessment and clinical monitoring skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.
- At least one year of experience in the Operating Room and/or Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU).
- Certified Post-Anesthesia Nurse (CPAN) certification.
- Knowledge of surgical procedures, scrub processes, and perioperative patient care.
- Experience operating a C-Arm or fluoroscope in a surgical setting.
