Radiology Technician
Summary:
Omaha Ambulatory Surgery Center is looking for a Full Time or Part time RT technician running a C-Arm in the procedure room.
Pay: $28 per hour
Duties:
1. Performs routine radiographic examinations requested by credentialed physicians and facilitates diagnosis in accordance with department procedure manual, technique charts and initial patient assessment to include the following.
2. Room preparation to include equipment set-up: general supply stocking; immobilization devices; lead shield, isolation procedure requirements.
3. Calculating and selecting proper technical factors, positioning radiographic equipment.
4. Maintain work area in a clean and orderly fashion in order to comply with infection control regulations and to present a professional look to patients and families.
5. Disinfects room after each patient use; restocks supplies; reports equipment malfunctions to appropriate person; and practices good hand washing.
6. Performs various clerical tasks in order to maintain continuity of patient exams.
7. Educates the patient and family members regarding the examination process. Keeps a current knowledge regarding technical developments, trends and techniques in radiographic procedures and equipment.
8. Provides basic, age appropriate care to patients and collects assessment data. Completes delegated tasks such as vital signs. Graph documentation is accurate and timely.
9. Communicates completion of task and signifies abnormalities or clinical changes to the RN.
10. Completes all forms accurately and in a timely fashion.
11. Ensure good customer service by giving the caller options for time and date of appointment. Repeat appointment date, time and providers name prior to ending the call. Make a pre-clinic visit prior to end of day. Updates registration when patients information changes.
12. Miscellaneous job responsibilities that are pertinent to the workflow of the area.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1. Analytical abilities necessary to resolve technical problems to produce optimal radiographs in accordance with standard methods and principles usually acquired through formal education.
2. Ability to work with minimal supervision.
3. Skill in performing capillary collection and venipuncture techniques, may be trained on the job.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
1. Graduate of a two year AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology.
2. ARRT registered or board eligible, and pass registry within one year of completion of training.
3. Current license from state of Nebraska.
4. Certified in basic cardiac life support, health provider course.
5. 3 years’ experience as a Radiologic Technologist preferred.
6. C-arm experience is required
