The Opportunity
As a Medical Assistant, you'll play an important role in delivering quality patient care and supporting clinical operations. You'll work closely with providers and fellow team members to ensure patients receive compassionate, efficient care throughout their treatment experience.
What You'll Do
Patient Care & Clinical Support
- Obtain and document patient medical histories, vital signs, test results, and other medical record information while maintaining strict confidentiality.
- Prepare treatment and examination rooms, equipment, and instruments for patient care and procedures.
- Assist providers during examinations, procedures, and other patient care activities.
- Prepare, order, and administer medications under the direction and supervision of physicians.
- Assist with patient transfers before and after procedures.
- Provide compassionate support and assistance to patients and their families.
- Answer and direct phone calls.
- Schedule appointments, check in patients, and collect information needed to update patient records.
- Ensure required forms and consents are completed and maintained accurately.
- Manage medical supply inventory and stock examination rooms appropriately.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and other healthcare regulations.
- Complete required annual training and support daily clinic operations as needed.
- Enjoy balancing patient care and administrative responsibilities.
- Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and team members.
- Are highly organized and attentive to detail.
- Work well independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
- Are committed to providing compassionate, patient-centered care.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Medical Assistant certification may be required.
- Minimum one (1) year of experience in a healthcare setting.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, office ethics, confidentiality requirements, and basic clerical procedures.
- Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
