Practice Administrator
Responsible for the daily administrative processes and staff within the clinic, procedure suites, and surgery center, if part of the practice. Assist with business improvement plans, manages the medical facility’s finances, perform hiring procedures, and ensures compliance with health care industry regulations.
Compensation: $110,000 - $125,000 annually
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Directs the daily operation of the facility.
Serves, along with committee appointed for the purpose, as a liaison between the Governing Board, the medical staff, and all departments of the facility.
Reports pertinent activities concerning the facility to the Governing Board at regular intervals.
Plans the services provided by the facility and the operation of the facility.
Leads discussion and presentation during operations meetings.
Acts as a liaison with outside agencies such as government bodies and insurance companies.
Monitors health and patient care practices for compliance in health regulations.
Maintains an in-depth knowledge of applicable healthcare regulations.
Facilitates performance improvement activities, evaluates, and improves effectiveness of the facility.
Monitors for compliance, coordinates with outside parties, and addresses any compliance issues promptly.
Ensures that the facility is clean, neat, professional, well maintained and conveys a feeling of confidence to our patients, their families, and our physician customers.
Reviews employee performance as evaluated by their respective managers, ensuring that reviews occur as scheduled or at least annually for each employee.
Reviews and approve the disciplinary action and/or discharge of employees.
Develops employee productivity analysis, utilizing data and ensure efficiency of staff levels through increases or reductions in the work force as necessitated by changes in surgical case volume.
Implements a job-based orientation, training, and ongoing evaluation program for all employees.
Ensures personnel files are complete and compliant.
Collaborates with the Medical Director in the review and revision of the Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules and Regulations.
Completes annual mandatory training by the due date as assigned.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Overall operations and administrative functions of the facility, except treatment performed by medical providers.
Bachelor’s degree in Health Care Administration, Public Health, or another business or healthcare related field. Masters preferred.
Active RN license in good standing preferred.
Previous health care management experience required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in electronic practice and health record management systems.
Extensive experience in financial management.
In-depth knowledge of applicable healthcare regulations.
Required to sit, stand and/or walk for long periods.
Must be able to communicate with or without reasonable accommodations – speak and hear.
Able to use both hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
