What You'll Do As a Medical Receptionist, you'll support front office operations and provide a welcoming, organized patient experience.
Check patients in/out; collect copays and deposits
Prepare new patient paperwork, insurance cards, privacy notices, forms, and consents
Create and maintain patient charts and electronic medical records
Work in EMR systems to support clinical and administrative workflows
Answer and direct phone calls professionally
Schedule/reschedule appointments and manage waitlists
Schedule follow-up appointments and document reasons when unable to schedule
Obtain and update patient information while maintaining confidentiality
Prepare examination rooms and assist patients and families
Maintain HIPAA, OSHA, and other healthcare compliance
Complete required annual training and other duties as assigned
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required
1+ year of administrative experience
1+ year of hands-on EMR experience
Healthcare facility experience preferred
Knowledge of medical terminology, spelling, office ethics, and confidentiality requirements
Basic knowledge of recordkeeping and filing
Proficiency with Microsoft Office or related software
