What You'll Do
As a Medical Assistant, you'll provide clinical and administrative support to healthcare professionals while helping ensure quality, compassionate patient care.
- Receive and direct phone calls, schedule appointments, and check in patients
- Obtain patient information and ensure forms and consents are completed
- Record medical histories, vital signs, test results, and other clinical information
- Prepare examination and treatment rooms, equipment, and instruments
- Maintain medical supply inventory and stock exam rooms appropriately
- Prepare, order, and administer medications under physician direction and supervision
- Assist practitioners with medical procedures and other patient care
- Assist with pre- and post-procedure patient transfers
- Provide compassionate support and assistance to patients and families
- Schedule and reschedule appointments, including proactive waitlist and schedule optimization
- Schedule follow-up appointments at checkout and document reasons when appointments cannot be scheduled
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and other healthcare regulations and complete required training
- High School Diploma or GED required
- At least 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting
- Medical Assistant certification may be required
- Knowledge of medical terminology, spelling, and office ethics
- Understanding of patient confidentiality requirements
- Basic knowledge of clerical procedures, recordkeeping, and filing
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Excellent organization and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently

- Professionalism and discretion when handling confidential information
- Ability to effectively support both clinical and administrative needs
